Gentle Rain House Mouse

This card I made yesterday, took me all the live long day to do it. First I colored the image, then I rested. Second I matched up some papers to go with it, then cut them out, and rested. Thirdly, I textured the papers, sewed them and adhered to the card. Then I rested again. Lastly, I cut some matching papers to go inside, sewed around the edges and glued them to the inside of the card.

Here is the inside of the card.

Here is a view of the front of the card.

Here is a better view of the front of the card. Pretty cool, right?

After all that I listed this on Ebay to sell, so if anyone is interested it is up for auction.

Of course the reason why so much resting is because of my surgery. Glad to be feeling better! And will be even more glad to be able to stamp and scrap all the live long day.

Thanks for looking and have fun!

Let's Celebrate

I made this card titled Let's Celebrate!, last month, before my surgery and felt it was missing something so there it sat in my basket of incompletes untill yesterday. I happen to be looking at my vast collection of ribbon, and found one that was almost the excact color of the card base.

This is the inside of the card:

This is the outside of the card. I sewed the top part on the sewing machine, then pulled the threads to the back of the paper and secured them with tape, so no loose threads are visible.

Ok, now I have 2 of the inside. Hmn. See how well the ribbon matches? LOL.

A Birthday card for Dad

I wanted to make a really special card for my Dad. His birthday is August 15 and he will be 77 years young. So I colored an image from Penny Black, added stickles for the bubbles and used liquid glass for the tub and the bowl to make it look ceramic.

I wanted the inside to POP! So I made the happy birthday pop up when the card is opened.

This one shows how i did it, just made 2 slits about an inch in width to glue the happy birthday sign on.

Not sure you can see the glitter or not but it sure does sparkle.

Love you Dad.

Who IS this woman?

Les and I took the girls to Unity Pond to cool off July 5th, and he snapped a few photos of me and the girls in the water. Later on looking at them I think how fast these girls are growing. Then I look at the woman in the purple suit and think to myself WHO is this woman?

Upon closser look I see it is me! How fat I have got! Far cry from the 109 pound 42 year old, when I first met my husband.

Where has the time gone? When did the pounds come on? And you know, my still slim, handsome and sexy dude still looks at me the same way as when we first met. I am so lucky, to have a loving and faithful man I call husband.

Only goes to show how fast time flies!

I'm Back!

First of all I want to thank everyone for the prayers and the best wishes. I came home Friday, sore tired and glad to have my pain pills handy. My surgery was a complete success! I can honestly say childbirth was much easier than this. I certainly do NOT want to go through this again, so I shall be a good girl, and do as the Doc says. I have a 2 week and a 4 week exam with him, so I am sure he will let me know how I am doing and what to expect.

The girls, wanted to know how many stitches I have and told them honestly I do not know. I know I had about 8 staples with some stitches that will dissolve under them. The hospital stay was pleasant, the crew most friendly and willing to help. The food was good, which was a surprise to me, as I remembered hospital food back 30 plus years ago as not the best tasting.

I am still resting well, and not doing much of anything. I will be coloring some images when I am able to sit up for longer periods of time, and in the meantime, I am enjoying the sitting around doing not so much.

I still tire easily, and feel the need to lay down for more resting and perhaps a nap as well.

Have a blessed day.

Surgery is today

I will be heading to the hospital today for my long awaited surgery. What kind of surgery you ask? I need a pelvic reconstruction. This is a normal procedure for a woman my age that has delivered children. I have lived with prolapse (where bladder, bowels and/or uturus are outside of my body), for a few years now, and when it got to be much worse (like after a couple of bouts of broncitis) where I couldn't keep my innards in, I decided it was time to do something about it.

I have not been able to go on walks with my girls for months, only short ones around the house, because I had to run to the bathroom every few minutes to relieve my bladder. And the backaches! Some of the pain was enough for me to consider asking my doc for pain killers, stronger than over the counter, ones. That has got to be bad, since I usually do not like to take anything if I dont have to.

Well, all should be better and on the mend today after this surgery is all over. I will have to recoup for awhile and take it easy! This will be difficult for me as I like to constantly be doing things. LOL.

Good thing I like to make cards, I will be able to do this whenever I feel up to it. I have stamped a few images for me to work on when I am able and am even taking my colored pencils and some stamped images with me to the hospital to work on. I like to be prepared for any and all things whenever possible. Doesn't that sound like a mom? LOL.

I do know that things for me will only get better when I do finally have this done. So if you are a praying person, please say one for me, and my family. The girls are so young and do not understand why I have to leave at all. So could you also pray for peace for them and my hubby too? Thanks so much.

I will be in Portland, for this operation at the Mercy Hospital and plan on at least a 2 night stay, maybe 3 depends on well I am doing. I will be gone for a few days, and when I feel up to blogging again I will let you know how I am doing.

In the meantime, you all have a very blessed day.

More cards

This is a card I worked on this spring, when it seemed to rain constantly! I named this card Rain, Rain. Fitting as it rained for days, affecting all the children at the daycare I help at. If you can imagine 12 kiddos, and how antsy they can be!

This is my first card I entered on eBay to be auctioned off. Wish me luck!

The youngest has finally woke up and it will not be long before her sister will enter the world of the conscious, so this will more than likely be it for my posts today.

Have a blessed day everyone.

More cards

Peaceful, not a child in sight, at least for a few more minutes. So I will take this time to post on here.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th! We did in out little neck of the woods. This house was teeming with laughter and chatter holiday visits can bring. I love this time of year. I thank God for my family and friends, and the wonderfully funny times we have together. Everytime all of us gets together I feel so blessed.

We had so much fun on Friday and Saturday, the girls are really pooped! LOL. Not to mention me as well. LOL.

I have been working on some cards these past few days and I wanted to show everyone what I have been up to. So here goes.

This first card is my Daisy Thank you. This is my second card I have entered on ebay. This card I used From Me to You stampset from CTMH. I glitterd the white on the petals with diamond Stickles (must have more of this). I also used my cuttlebug to embossed the white the daisy sits on (love that folder). I popdotted the daisy and the center again to make it dimensional.

I must be off to take my shower before the kiddos wake up (just lots easier, believe me). Hope you all have a great summer.

May each and every day be blessed.
