August 19th

Today is August 19, 2008. Almost 6 weeks ago (tomorrow) I went in for surgery. Hard to believe the weeks have gone by so fast! I am feeling great! Still get tired easily, but that is to be expected.

I am so glad I had this surgery done, I feel like a new woman already! As the weeks and months go by I will be able to do more and more. Thank you Jesus!

Destiny will be starting school next Monday. She will be going into the third grade! I cannot believe it. Emily will start school next year. Wow! How the time does fly!

I hope you all have a wonderful day in blogger land.

Birthdays and turtles

Ok, so you may ask, what do birthdays and turtles have in common? Well just take a lookie at this turtle and see what what Matilda is saying. If you are having difficulty here is the saying: Birthdays are good for you, The more you have, the longer you live. How true is that? LOL.

The inside has some plaid paper on it with the Happy Birthday greeting.

This shows how I added dimension with pop dots, along with the cute textured flap of the envelope. I used designer papers that had some glitter in it.

I have also listed this adorable birthday card on Ebay. Check out my other cards as well.

If anyone would like cards similar to these, I do special order cards as well. The prices vary, depending on the length of time it takes to do and the amount of materials needed for it. These type of cards start out at $4.00 and up. All you have to do is email me at katsscrapping@yahoo.com or leave a message for me here on this blog and I will get back to you.

Have a happy and fun filled day.

What I have been working on - cards!

Here is the Thanksgiving card I have been working on. I like how it turned out. When I saw the pretty paper, I thought "fall" and decided to use the stamp I got from a great little scrappin shop in Albion.

Here is a closer picture of the front of the card. I used versamark ink and black embossing powder for the image. Love how it looks! Made it easier to color in by hand. LOL. If you are still having problems and cannot see just click onto the picture.

Here is the inside. Got a bunch of new stamps from Waterville in June and this was one of them. I like the font. Yes, Happy Thanksgiving says it all! I textured the flap of the envelope to make it stand out visually and I am done!

This one has been listed on Ebay, if anyone is interested in it. Check out my other cards on ebay as well.

I will post more cards later as my day has started and now I must get ready for my day. Thanks for visiting.

Summertime

Today is the 5th of August. In exactly 20 more days, Destiny will enter the 3rd grade for the first time. The good ole school days. I remember them fondly! The excitement of THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. Why did we ever think the first day of school was the best? LOL. Getting new clothes, paper supplies, new pencils and notebooks too. That was the best part of going to school after having the summer off. Even back then I loved paper, of course, we didn't have the pretty papers like we do now. We decorated our own paper, and put them on our school books to display proudly our art work.

I wonder what Destiny will remember in the years to follow? What will be the most interesting and exciting things she will ponder later in her life about her school years?

And then there is Emily. Emily will be turning four in October, so she will have to wait another year before following her beloved sister riding on the big yellow bus to the big kid's school, down the road from daycare. Will she cry for a week like she did last year when she found she could not go with her sis? Time will tell.

And here I sit at my computer, wondering what these grandchildren of mine will remember about this time in their lives. LOL. I hope they will have many happy memories of all of the excitement, like I did when I was their age.

The time is getting away from me this morning. I do have to pry my hands away from the keyboard and get ready for my day. I hope you all have a blessed day.
